alanhinkel > In loving memory of Phillip Anthony Hinkel,27 April 1971-28 February 1998.10 Years-Forever Our Angel-The Quote Says,"You loved life. You lived it to the fullest. You saw the true beauty in the world, and all that was in it.You helped others, just because you saw the a need; You brought joy to those around you.Your laugh was infectious. You dreamed big with a wonder that was inspiring;yet you still appreciated all the little things in life.Seventeen years ago, through no fault of your own,you were locked within yourself, and taken from us.Though left blind, paralyzed and severely brain damaged;you were were an inspiration and your smile could still light up a room.Ten years ago you were taken from us again, the tragedy was complete.Your suffering was over. The world was a better place with you in it.You are missed with every sunrise and thoughts of you float on every breeze. We will find you again...
alanhinkel > The 1989 Honda Accord my brother(Phillip Anthony Hinkel) was in after a 16 yr. old boy(Troy Mathis) hit him in the drivers side at speeds in excess of 75 mph.The Accord was drug sideways 200 feet, then hit a street sign and flipped. My brother hung upside down in the car by his seatbelt until being cut down by paramedics.I believe he either would have died or gotten a lot better if he hadn't been wearing it.The seatbelt caused the liver and spleen injuries and caused irreversible brain damage by cutting his oxygen supply off ,by the blood and vomit in his airway, while hanging upside down.He was in a coma for 4 months, suffered traumatic brain, back, liver, spleen injuries, broken pelvis, and gasoline burns on his body. The injuries he recieved rendered him brain damaged and quadrapalegic 0n August 21,1991.He spent 10 months in Singing River Hospital, mostly in the Neuro intensive care unit for seven months, then Tuoro hospital in New Orleans for rehabilitation for 3 months. He passed away as a result of these injuries on February 28,1998.The driver of the other car had knee surgery, spent one night in juvenile hall, recieved a 300 dollar fine, and had his license revoked until age 21.Not to long ago I recieved a ticket from the Pascagoula Police Dept. for my radio being up to loud at the same intersection.I was fined 300 dollars(now it is a thousand dollars for 1st offense, and jail time for second offense.Maybe it's just me,but that doesnt sound quite fair, but life isn't fair I guess.
